About the Artist

Janet Hamlin was born in Utica NY and then grew up living alternately between Clinton NY and Paris France. She graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, with an emphasis on Ceramics and Sculpture. 

After 15 years of working in the Retail and Fashion industry in Manhattan, Janet has eagerly returned to her roots in the world of fine art. She lives in Andover, MA with her husband and two sons.

Many of Janet’s works now live across the globe. Her paintings can be found in Japan, Germany, Sweden, England and France. Her paintings of Andover, MA. have become icons of the town. She chooses to capture in her works the commonplace, that which people see everyday, but presented in a new light. She hopes that through her work people can find the beauty in the world around them and develop a greater appreciation for their surroundings.
