The daughter of a French Professor, Janet Hamlin spent a large part of her childhood playing on the Hamilton College campus in upstate N.Y. The brick buildings, chapel and students at Phillips Academy have a very familiar and comforting feel for her, although very different in detail.

Janet strives through her paintings of Phillips Academy to capture an intimate perspective. She strives to capture the beauty that surrounds the students every day. The beauty that is so common place it can often go unnoticed in their everyday life. The beauty that will become a part of the student's core and forever affect them.
